I hope they have the good sense to show the uncut versions that originally aired on NBC. The ones currently circulating on Hallmark, TVLand, etc. have been edited down for extra commercials---some to a point that the jokes don't "land" properly because the set-ups have been edited out. If they show the originals to groups who've only seen the edited versions, they will feel like they're getting "new" material, and thus getting an even better experience.

Where were you privileged to see I LOVE LUCY in theaters? My wife and I were literally discussing this morning how it would be good to see it in theaters.

They're showing these GG episodes at the theater in the mall near where I live. Unfortunately this is the same theater where I sat through that god-awful, insulting Dark Shadows movie from 2012 (?) and I think if I were to set foot in that theater again, I might break out in hives. Sorry, Girls.

Oh, I think work will understand. Just explain that ur going to the movies to watch a show that went off the air 30 years ago featuring four women sitting around eating cheesecake while they discuss their sex lives or lack there of. What’s not to understand?

Same venue; Fathom Events is great for re-releasing classic films and, more recently, classic TV shows. Aside from I LOVE LUCY, I know they also did a theatrical presentation of THE TWILIGHT ZONE.
Watching a sitcom in a theater is an odd experience; something normally small and intimate becomes large and public. It wasn't long though before the entire audience -- and the theater was near capacity -- was laughing in unison.

I saw THE GOLDEN GIRLS in theaters tonight and it was a fun experience. There were fewer people in attendance than when I saw I LOVE LUCY, but still about 45-50 in the audience. There was a lot of laughter, applause and some singing along with the theme song. The episodes shown:

Mostly a good batch, although I don't think the last was one of the better episodes of the series. I think the episodes were complete, or at least I didn't notice any egregious editing. The picture quality was surprisingly sharp and vivid, more so than I expected.

Even if it’s a bad episode I don’t care cause at least I know I’ll still laugh for 30 minutes.
Totally agree, Golden Girls is the one show that totally lifts my spirits if I am in a bad mood.

Me too. I think what I love about it more than anything is I had all four of those characters in my family growing up so for me the things they said and did on that show were all pretty normal.
