Everything about this is weird.

Holland looks nothing like Fred Astaire; Gene Kelly, maybe.

Astaire was, as far as I know, opposed to being portrayed on screen and apparently his widow and estate have continued the objection. I don't think a person necessarily gets to decide if a biopic is made anymore than they can prevent a person from writing a biography, but it makes the vibe around this project awkward.

Mostly, though, I just don't think Astaire had an interesting life. He was a great dancer and a hard working professional but I don't recall anything particularly interesting about his personal life other than, maybe, a minor rivalry with Ginger Rogers.

PS: I can´t stand Holland and all his promotion of hyperventilating, thin as air, presumptuous, straight-for-pay colleagues. Young American actors of today suck. Ok, I said it.

This is a good film, although Harry Lawty never seems to be entirely natural when he acts. He has a good screen presence though. Toby Jones is always good value.

I can´t stand Holland

Another one that doesn't look completely natural and effortless on screen, unlike his wife who is an amazing actor.
