Hi Everyone,

I just listened to the Ewing BBQ podcast and in this episode they were discussing the episode "End of the Road" Part II."
Because that's the episode where Lucy & Mitch got married they had Charlene Tilton & Leigh McCloskey as guests.

They talked about where they see Lucy & Mitch today and their memories of filming the famous wedding scenes.
I found out some fun tidbits that I hadn't heard before. You can listen to it here:

So thoughts anyone?

Take care,
Best wishes:
Karin.

P.S. Thanks to my friend Josh for sharing this with me!

I wonder what the writers were thinking when they married off Lucy to that dullard.

”Let’s have Lucy get involved with and marry someone who wants to get his hands on the Ewing money.”

”Nah, let’s have her marry someone noble who doesn’t want anything from the Ewings. That has much more story potential.”

Well, Jock certainly thought he was a strange boy.

And to be honest I agree with him.

Still, it was nice to see a character like Mitch stand on his own two feet & not want to be owned by the Ewing's! :)

Agreed that it was nice to see somebody not that interested in wealth. But I would have liked them to bring in someone like Chip from Knots Landing to be Lucy’s husband.

I did not understand the pairing myself. Was it suppose to be a possible spinoff or have them move to Knots Landing at some point? I did not much are for him myself. Yes it was nice to see someone interested in Lucy for a reason not her being a Ewing but Mitch and his pride nonsense got tired. I loved that scene where Afton tells him off about his pride and chasing Lucy away.

I found him annoying myself like after Lucy's bachelorette party when Jock and JR were both being nice. Jock had gotten them a place to live and JR offered him a job and instead of being gracious he throws a temper tantrum and runs off. I thought that Ellie's comment later on was so stupid. She said that she liked how Mitch stood up to Jock and JR which again I thought was stupid. He did no such thing. I don't consider being rude as standing up to someone.

Anyway, I never understood the point of this pairing.

They were planning to do a spinoff called The Lucy Show, where zany rich girl Lucy would have been constantly fighting with her proud but poor husband who didn’t want her to have any fun.
