I think at this point, I'd be far more interested in a DALLAS prequel when Jock, Digger and Ellie were all still single and Jock and Digger were wildcatting together. At least that way, Duffy couldn't ruin the show by sucking so far up the producer's butt, he becomes the star. He can't play young Jock so would have to be Grandpa Southworth or Grandpa Ewing...not a main character.

Duffy and Cidre's apparent fascination with him...were really the major flaws of the reboot. In no real world where you want a successful show for a younger generation, do you allow Duffy to have his young, beefcake son killed off for his own screentime to take over...even usurping John Ross's.

All the while we have to hear Duffy's incessant and completely made up ramblings about the Three Musketeers...all for one and one for all, blah, blah, blah....while Linda Gray had to fight her own fight for more storyline...smh.

Smithfield was the one who made the call to bring in the legendary Demarest to defend Jock against murder charges brought by Cliff Barnes and the resolute Fenton Washburn, but we the viewers were sadly deprived of the spectacle of a legal super-summit.. Harv and Scotty in the same scene may have, in fact, quite literally caused TVs to explode with greatness.

Anita Smithfield (like a season 12-14 pun, but more clever, not that that’s a high bar to clear) was maybe not the greatest “next generation legal superstar”, but she could have been reworked a bit for New Dallas.. throw in Scotty Demarest Jr., and who needs the Ramoses at all?!?

As I mentioned before I don't know (remember) if their lives progressed in the Dallas movies.
As for Lucas, Margaret and Cally's son I don't believe they were mentioned at all. I would have preferred if TNT Dallas did revisit these characters solely because they had Ewing blood. If TNT Dallas required anything it was more Ewing's not less as there were complaints about the first season. Personally I think the character of Lucas could have been used to great effect as a wedge between John Ross, Bobby and Christopher.

A missed opportunity in my view.

haha, this is approaching the “entertainingly dramatic” space that a prime DALLAS and maybe the better years of some of the other “supersoaps” occupied in the 80s!

Art should never be fixed, let alone by AI. It would be like watching lots of Dream Season scenarios because it didn't really happen.

Crappy art should always be thrown into the trash and fixed whenever possible, by whatever tools necessary.
All of this is fiction. None of it really happened.

I think it's criminal to "upgrade" someone else's art with AI. And who decides what should and shouldn't be upgraded?
Who decides what tools are appropriate to create art? I think it’s criminal to throw up your hands and say “Well that was made, guess we have to live with it and can’t do anything about it. There shall never be any improvements!!!”

Who is Ted Turner?

The guy below:

When he bought the Warner-MGM catalogue, he started "painting" B & W movies in a horrendous way, thus destroying movies like "What a Wonderful Life", "Casablanca" (and many other Bogart films), "Some Like It Hot", and gems like those:

It´s not what it looks like. It´s WORSE!!!

Critics around the world attacked him and I guess that, after all, Fonda divorced him for that only reason (though he was a too conservative man who wanted her at home, go figure!).

heh, against my better judgment I’ll just note that at least Ted actually was the ‘skipper’ when he won the America’s Cup in the day, quite unlike more recent “cup winner” and current “even more wealthy and powerful billionaire mogul, with a son and successor in place who’s the nominal driver of giant controversial media acquisitions and mergers” - Larry Ellison…
