And the more layers there are, the less it works (there's a heavily-implied soap operatic backstory with an affair between the cop and his female colleague that's further wrecked his home life). </p> <p style="text-align: center"></p> <p style="text-align: center">Production-wise it feels very much like a TV movie, and it's fine on that level. The performances are decent and the writing, while not the most innovative, also has its moments with a couple of little twists and turns. It's also Australian, which is a plus in my book. </p> <p style="text-align: center"></p> <p style="text-align: center">All in all, a perfectly serviceable gritty thriller. It doesn't complete me, but neither do I regret watching.</p></blockquote><p></p>
