It's a remake of a 1979 film which I've never seen, but I couldn't help wondering if the "inspiration" for this version came as much from <a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Golden_Years_(2016_film)" target="_blank">Golden Years</a>, a low key British film from almost exactly a year before this one (and which <a href="https://tellytalk.net/threads/what-was-the-last-film-you-watched.345/page-90#post-285598" target="_blank">I happened to watch myself</a> almost exactly a year ago).
