Thank you for the feedback Honkytonkangel. :) You are right that Cliff and Afton are being selfish as usual. Also I agree that Afton should have told her. But she hasn't so you can't blame the child for being curious. She sort of put Cliff on the spot there. Anyway you'll find out what happens when Afton wakes up soon. But before then back to Southfork for our next update... After supper the Ewing family sat down in the living room to talk a little. At first all went well and Miss Ellie and Clayton told them about their trip and they laughed and had a good time. But then Miss Ellie suddenly asked Pam, “So Pam where are you and Rebecca staying?” “Oh here at Southfork,” Pam smiled. “Bobby offered us one of the guest rooms upstairs. I hope you don’t mind.” “Of course I don’t mind. You make sure to stay as long as you’d like,” Miss Ellie smiled satisfied with the response. “Thanks Miss Ellie we won’t be going anywhere anytime soon,” Pam smiled. “That makes me happy to hear. You know how much I love to have my family around me…” “We do and did I mention that Donna & Margaret are coming for a visit as well on Monday?” Ray suddenly said and his remark made JR’s eyes narrow, as he so didn’t like the news one bit. “No but that’s wonderful news,” Miss Ellie smiled warmly. “I don’t think so. I mean first that Barnes Woman, then that ex. Krebbs Woman and both of them bring off-springs?” “JR!” Miss Ellie said annoyed. “No Mama, Southfork’s a big place but it’s not that big and with all these people coming here at the same time. It’s gonna be a full house!” “And what’s wrong with that?” Miss Ellie asked. “Yeah wasn’t it you who used to whine about missing the good ol’ days when it was all about family?” Bobby reminded his brother who grimaced as Bobby had a point. “I did, but there’s family and there’s family and besides aren’t it funny that they all comes here now?” JR complained. “But when I needed them there was no one!” “Oh come on JR you’re overreacting…” Bobby told his brother. “Am I?” JR asked. “So if I am overreacting then you’ll tell me where the hell everybody was when I almost killed myself then?” His comment made Miss Ellie hung her head low as it reminded her that she had failed her eldest son and the idea of JR feeling so low that he’d even considered taking his own life hurt her deeply. Rebecca however lightened up the mood by stating with a child’s brutal honesty, “You know mom you were right. JR really is mentally ill just like you said!” That comment made some of the grownups in the room chuckle. But Pam wasn’t amused as she scolded her daughter, “REBECCA! I know it’s been a long day for you, meeting your grandparents and all but you don’t have to babble about things that you don’t have a clue what they mean!” “But mom you said that…” “No Rebecca, it’s way past your bedtime…so let’s go upstairs and put you to bed,” Pam took Rebecca’s hand and the two of them walked out of the room. Then when they were out of earshot JR turned to Bobby and said, “Bobby you’ll better watch out that kid is just like Pam, no doubts about it!” “There you said it yourself. She’s Pam’s daughter,” Bobby smiled. “So maybe now I don’t have to hear you accuse her again for taking a kid off the street and claim that…” “No Bob, I won’t. But you’re missing the point. Since sure that’s Pam’s kid alright. But like I said before, that doesn’t prove that she’s yours,” JR smiled his shit eating grin towards his brother and a tense silence lingered over the room, as they all knew that JR was right. Sure Pam could say it was Bobby’s child but except for her word they didn’t have any proof. Sure the kid resembled Bobby but the circumstances around her birth did sound unlikely, since for her to really be Bobby’s she’d had to survive that car crash. So no one said anything when Bobby looked around the room, waiting for someone to speak up for Pam. Instead they all just looked around the room, letting the silence speak louder than words…
